Strengthening of A Ni–W coating by laser processing

Abstract
Calorimetric studies show that the nanocrystalline coating Ni–37 wt. %W produced by electrodeposition does not undergo phase transformations up to a temperature of 1000°C. Laser processing affects the properties of coatings, and in the selected mode leads to a significant grain growth in the coating, without affecting its chemical composition. At a certain energy input, a notable increase in the microhardness of the coating was revealed.
